The 100 KTA caprolactam project adopts the cyclohexanone amine-oxime technology to produce liquid caprolactam (for self-use) and solid caprolactam (for sales) with side products ammonium sulfate and sodium carbonate. The process uses benzene as the main raw material. The production process is as follows: benzene is hydrogenized to produce cyclohexene. Cyclohexene is hydrated to produce cyclohexanol. Cyclohexanol is dehydrogenated to produce cyclohexanone. Cyclohexanone turns into cyclohexanone oxime through amine-oxime treatment. And the liquid phase turns then into caprolactam. The plant includes cyclohexanone facility (including cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone equipment), caprolactam facility (including amine-oxime device, liquid phase cracking device, caprolactam flake agglomeration device and ammonium sulfate crystallization device).
This hydroxylamine technology adopts hydrogen peroxide, ammonia and cyclohexanone amine-oxime process, replacing phosphoric acid hydroxylamine equipment with hydrogen peroxide, which gets rid of severe corrosion. Meanwhile, the consumption of raw materials is low and the amount of side product ammonia sulphate is small. Caprolactam produced in this process is in compliance with China national quality standards GB/T13255.1~8.
The total capacity of caprolactam process could reach 100KTA with 160 KTA side products ammonia sulphate. It recycled annually 9000 tons waste alkali. The project covers an area of 233,000 square meters and takes 18 months for construction. We could also provide EPC services for plants with capacity below 100 KTA according to customer’s specific capacity demands.
